Smokey
This little pistol is Smokey. He came to us with his sister, Saddie, back in 2017. They were tiny then and right at the eight-week mark but now he’s six and all trouble. He’s a lover, but he is also very stubborn, can be way over-assertive, hates to be corrected for his behavior, and rebels as much as he can get by with.
Smokey is the one that needs attention the most, loves being held, and will push his way in over all the others no matter what. He’s not mean about it. He doesn’t hurt anyone, but he will crowd his way in and push someone else out for that attention. If you put him down, he is right back up. He is also a climber and absolutely can’t just sit in your lap but will try to get up on your shoulder. Put him down, and he’s up there again, no matter how many times you try until you’ve had enough.
Despite his stubbornness, he is very loving. He and his sister are almost always lying next to one another somewhere. But he can also be a bit of a troublemaker and has no problem picking a fight with one of his roommates just for something to do! It doesn’t usually result in more than a good wrestling match, but occasionally he gets a little rough.
Smokey is definitely the most assertive cat in the family and the most verbal! He will sometimes walk around the house and just meow. He will meow at the bedroom door, the bathroom door, the back door, meow to eat, meow to get petted—he’s just a talker! He’s very loveable, but also our biggest challenge.
